Dennis Ombachi

Dennis Ombachi is a former Kenya Sevens player popularly known for his explosive run to score a last-minute try to help Kenya 7s beat Zimbabwe 21-17 and qualify for the Olympics in Rio.

Ombachi suffered a blow to his career at the 2016 Olympics after breaking both his leg and uncle at a point where he was at his peak, putting him out of the pitch for about six months.

Currently, Ombachi has become an online sensation through his engaging cooking videos and his popular phrase, ‘done’,  is now part of his signature cooking style.

Ledama Olekina

Ledama Ole Kina is a Kenyan Senator representing Narok County. He was re-elected to the position during the August 9, General Election in which he played a key role in an effort to get former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to the Presidency.

The lawmaker first joined Parliament in 2017 on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket and rose through the ranks to become the Chair of the powerful Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC).

Joseph Kinyua

After leading a successful 42-Year-old career in public service culminating in him becoming the Head of the Public Service, Joseph Kinyua formally stepped down from the role in October 2022.

In his previous role, Kinyua was instrumental in overseeing the execution of economic policies and helped craft the state's annual budget.

He first joined the service in 1980 as an attaché at the Central Bank of Kenya in 1980 and rose through the ranks serving Presidents Mwai Kibaki, Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.

Anne Waiguru

Anne Waiguru serves as the Governor of Kirinyaga County - now in her second term since clinching the seat in 2017 and the Chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG).

In the past year, especially during the few months leading to the August 9 General Election, Waiguru was part of a handful of politicians whose persuasion on any alliance was paramount.

In a span of months, she moved from Jubilee Party to playing a critical role in the election of President William Ruto.

Gladys Boss Shollei

Gladys Boss Shollei is the Woman Representative for Uasin Gishu County and doubles up as the Deputy Speaker in the National Assembly.

She played a key role as part of the panelist that interviewed the individuals nominated to sit in President William Ruto's Cabinet.

She was elected to the National Assembly as woman representative for Uasin Gishu in the 2017 general election, representing the Jubilee Party.

After her election to Parliament, she rose up the ranks to the position of chairperson of the Committee on Delegated Legislation.

George Wajackoyah

Prof George Luchiri Wajackoyah is a Kenyan politician and the party leader of Roots party of Kenya.

He is also a lawyer by profession and a founding Partner of Luchiri & Co Advocates.

Wajackoyah has practiced law for over 25 years and has represented clients in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) among many more.

Wajackoyah ran for the presidency in the 2022 General Election held on August 9 and emerged third garnering 61,969 votes. He ran for office having been sponsored by his party.

Abel Mutua

Abel Mutua is a scriptwriter, actor and content creator who is a popular household name in Kenya known for his acting in the famous series Tahidi High where he played the role of Freddie.

Mutua was the script writer in various popular Kenyan shows like The Real Househelps of Kawangware, Hapa Kule News and Anda Kava.  

In 2022, Mutua wrote the script for the Kenyan action movie Click Click Bang which broke the Kenyan premiere ticket sales.

Fred Matiang'i

Fred Matiang'i is the immediate former Interior Cabinet Secretary under Uhuru Kenyatta's administration. 

Prior to joining politics, Matiang'i served as the Eastern Africa Regional Representative for the Centre for International Development, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, in the State University of New York (SUNY).

Equipped with a PhD in comparative literature, Matiang'i had also done communication consultancies for the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme.

Kawira Mwangaza

Kawira Mwangaza is the first female governor of the county of Meru.

Mwangaza, who vied on an independent ticket during the 2022 general elections, floored political bigwigs including the immediate governor Kiraitu Murungi and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirant Mithika Linturi to win the gubernatorial race.

She garnered 209,148 votes compared to the 183,859 and 110,814 votes that Linturi and Kiraitu registered respectively.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o is a Kenyan Hollywood actor who has won various awards in the film industry.

She is famously known for her role in the film 12 Years a Slave which was her first-ever feature.

In 2022, she was featured in the marvel movie Wakanda Forever, released on November 11.

Her role in the movie required her to do some vigorous underwater exercises prior to the shooting day.

In videos posted by the actor on her socials, she is seen swimming underwater with huge weights while holding her breath for prolonged periods.
