Bowen

Bowen is a Grade 6 student at Techlit Africa - an organisation that imparts digital skills to children in rural primary schools. 

The organisation is owned by Nelly Cheboi - a techpreneur who was feted as CNN's Hero of the Year in 2022. 

Bowen has been recognised for teaching and breaking down code in the Swahili language on TikTok.

Such is his impact that his videos have garnered views ranging between 100,000 to 500,000. 

Richard Mathenge

Richard Mathenge is the team lead at Sama - a global company that focuses on data annotation solutions for enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) models.

He is a resourceful Public Relations professional with over seven years' experience in the Customer Service industry. 

He has also been instrumental in promoting Artificial Intelligence within the continent. 

Mathenge, alongside other Kenyans were part of the team outsourced for training ChatGPT. 

Christine Mawia Sammy

Christine Mawia Sammy is a Kenyan nurse with 27 years of experience.

She currently works at Kitui County Referral Hospital and has played a pivotal role in improving newborn survival rates in the neonatal department. 

Christine is credited with transforming a nursery room into an independent newborn unit at the Kitui County Referral Hospital. 

Because of her efforts, newborn fatality rates have reduced from 50 per cent to under 10 per cent within a year. 

Abel Mutua

Popularly known by his self-styled title Mkurugenzi,  Abel Mutua is a filmmaker, scriptwriter, actor and content creator.

He first rose to national prominence for his starring role in Citizen TV’s Tahidi High where he was casted as Freddie, a mischievous character.

Mumbi Ngugi

Lady Justice Grace Mumbi Ngugi is a judge of the High Court of Kenya and co-founder of the Albinism Foundation for East Africa. 

The foundation comprises people with albinism, parents of children with albinism and professional friends with an interest in the rights of persons living with albinism.  Aside from being a renowned author, she is also known for scooping a number of awards.

She was awarded the 2018 CB Madan Award in an annual ceremony organized by the Platform Magazine and Strathmore Law School.
