Beatrice Elachi

Beatrice Kedeveresia Elachi is a Kenyan politician who served as the Speaker of the Nairobi County Assembly between September 2017 and August 2020. Elachi was born in 1973 in Kakamega County. 

Rachel Shebesh

Rachel Shebesh, born Rachel Wambui Wainaina, is a Kenyan politician who served as Nairobi Woman Representative between 2013 and 2017.

Rachel was born in Nairobi on 1st July 1971. Her father, Simon Wainaina Mbugua, was a prominent city politician and at one time served as Nairobi Mayor. 

Margaret Wanjiru

Margaret Wanjiru Kariuki is a televangelist and Nairobi-based politician. Wanjiru served as Starehe MP and Assistant Minister for Housing between 2008 and 2013. 

Wanjiru was born in Nairobi on December 22, 1961. She describes her upbringing as based on extreme poverty and she had to do odd jobs in her teen years including working as a house help and as a hawker.

Martha Karua

Martha Karua is former MP for Gichugu Constituency and is an Advocate of the High Court.

She attended  Kabare Girls Boarding School before proceeding to Kiburia Girls Secondary School.

She later enrolled to study Law at the University of Nairobi.

Anne Waiguru

Anne Waiguru is the Governor of Kirinyaga County.

Born in 1972, Waiguru joined Nairobi River Primary School before heading to Precious Blood Girls Secondary School, Riruta. 

She moved to Egerton University where she graduated with a Degree in Agriculture and Home Economics.

Charity Ngilu

Charity Kaluki Ngilu is the current Kitui County Governor. She is one of the three women governors that were elected as governors in the 2017 General Election.

Ngilu’s political career spans three decades having first vied and won the Kitui central parliamentary seat in 1992.

Millicent Omanga

Embattled nominated senator Millicent Omanga is on the verge of losing her senatorial seat following expulsions proceedings by the Jubilee Party.

Omanga was among the nominated senators including Isaac Mwaura, Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Prengei Victor and Iman Falhada Dekow who were expelled by the party. 

Fatuma Dulo

Senator Fatuma Dullo is the current Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate. She is the first elected female Senator for Isiolo County. 

At 23 years she made history by serving as the first female District Officer from the Borana Community.

Susan Kihika

Susan  Kihika is the Nakuru Senator having been elected in 2017. Prior to that, she served as the first female speaker of Nakuru County Assembly.

Kihika is considered a key ally of Deputy President William Ruto and has been vocal in supporting him, emphasizing that the DP has been sidelined by the Jubilee administration.

Amina Mohammed

Amina Mohamed is the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage, a position she has held since March 2019. Amina, 59, has had an illustrious career in both the diplomatic and public service spanning three decades.

After her Masters in Law degree in Ukraine, Amina returned to Kenya in 1985 and worked for the Ministry of Local Government as a legal officer before moving to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986.
