Kivutha Kibwana

Kivutha Kibwana is the Governor of Makueni County and the party leader of the Muungano Party. 

He is also a professional lawyer, with a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi. Kibwana also holds degrees in International Law and a Master in Theological Studies. 

Martin Wambora

He is the governor of Embu County, a seat he won on a TNA (The National Alliance) ticket in 2013 and successfully defended via the Jubilee ticket in 2017. He has survived four impeachment attempts in his career. 

Wambora previously served as the Chairman of the board of Kenya Airports Authority (KPA) before venturing into politics in 2013. 

Wycliffe Oparanya

Oparanya is the current governor of Kakamega County serving his last term after being reelected in 2017. He is also the immediate former Chairman of the Council of Governor’s (COG), a position he handed over to Embu Governor Martin Wambora on January 29, 2021. 

Oparanya is a certified public accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). 

Anne Waiguru

Anne Waiguru is the Governor of Kirinyaga County.

Born in 1972, Waiguru joined Nairobi River Primary School before heading to Precious Blood Girls Secondary School, Riruta. 

She moved to Egerton University where she graduated with a Degree in Agriculture and Home Economics.

Ali Hassan Joho

Ali Hassan Joho is the governor of Mombasa County and the Deputy Party Leader of the Orange Democratic Party (ODM). 

Joho is currently serving his second and last term as Mombasa Governor and declared his interest in the Presidency. The former Kisauni MP is seeking to vie for the 2022 presidential election via the ODM party ticket. 

Kivutha Kibwana

Kivutha Kibwana is the Governor of Makueni county. He boasts a law degree from Harvard University, George Washington University and the University of London.

 

Kibwana became a Member of Parliament for Makueni Constituency, and Minister of both Land and Settlements and Environment & Natural Resources.

Charity Ngilu

Charity Kaluki Ngilu is a politician and the current Kitui County Governor, one of the three women governors that were elected as governors in the 2017 General Election.

Ngilu’s political career spans three decades having first vied and won the Kitui central parliamentary seat in 1992.

Ali Hassan Joho

Ali Hassan Joho is the current Governor of Mombasa County and the Orange Democratic Party deputy leader. He is serving his second and final 5-year term as governor of the coastal county.

Joho actively got into elective politics in 2007 when he won the Kisauni parliamentary seat after joining the Liberal Democratic Party in 2006 as the party’s chairman in the constituency.

Alfred Mutua

Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua is serving his second and final term as the Governor of Machakos County.

He was reelected during the 2017 general elections on a Maendeleo Chap Chap Party ticket, a political party he founded in August 2016. In 2013, Mutua was sponsored to vie for the inaugural gubernatorial race by the Wiper Democratic Party.
