DP William Ruto Apologizes to ODM Supporters

Deputy President William Ruto asked for the forgivenesss of supporters from the Western region whom he led to join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.

Speaking during a Jubilee rally in Kakamega county, the DP apologized for taking the locals to ODM in 2007 while he was campaigning for then party candidate Raila Odinga.

“When a hare was cornered one day, he said he will not blame the person who cornered him but the one who woke him up. Forgive me for taking you to ODM.Even though you have moved to NASA, I have come back to take you where it matters,” Ruto proclaimed.

The Deputy President was accompanied by former Funyula MP Paul Otuoma who promised to gift National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga with a bull if President Uhuru Kenyatta fails to garner more votes in Busia County.

Dr Otuoma who defected to Jubilee in September expressed confidence that Kenyatta would clinch more votes in the Western region under his stewardship.

“In August 8, Uhuru only managed 34,000 votes. If I don’t double those votes, I promise Raila a bull,” he declared.

Meanwhile, the Jubilee brigade held their rallies in Meru County today where President Uhuru Kenyatta promised to work with former Meru governor Peter Munya if he withdraws his petition against incumbent Kiraitu Murungi.

The Head of State asked the two leaders to bury the hatchet and focus on development adding that he would work with Munya in his government.

"I wish to congratulate Kiraitu Murungi for his election as governor. No one lost here.

"I assure you that even if you lost I will keep my promise and include you in the national government," stated Kenyatta.
