Winnie Odinga to Become Kenya's 1st Female President - Mutahi Ngunyi

Political analyst, Prof Mutahi Ngunyi ,on Sunday stated that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga's daughter Winnie Odinga was on track to become the first female president of Kenya.

In his weekly show the Fifth Estate, Ngunyi and his team from the Fort Hall School of Government opined that Odinga would never become a president but his daughter would rise to become the Head of State.

"Raila is old now and it is my prediction that Winnie Odinga will become the first woman president of Kenya after William Ruto. That you can take to the bank," he proclaimed.

In reference to the creation of the Prime Minister position, the team explained that the country needed to return to a diluted version of the Koffi Annan formula by 2022 where: "DP William Ruto should take over as president with Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as his deputy. Interior CS Fred Matiang'i should be the Prime Minister while Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Winnie Odinga serve as Deputy Prime Ministers."

The team added that when DP Ruto takes over as president, he should unite the country by ending the political dominance of the Kikuyu and Kalenjin commmunities.

"Is it right for Gema and Kalenjin communities to dominate politics in turns? In our view, it is not right that Kikuyus should inherit presidency from William Ruto in 2032," they maintained.

The team added that Odinga was right on the push for constitutional reforms in a bid to end the tribal dominance of the Kikuyu and Kalenjin, adding that constitutional confusion had inherently granted the two communities the helms of power indefinitely, an error that needed correcting.

"I don't think Raila is altogether wrong, his methods are wrong because NASA tried to fix the tribal dominance in the 2017 elections but failed.

"The Kikuyu Kalenjin dominance should end and the only way to fix the anomally is through constitutional change," the team conveyed.

The analysts acknowledged that there was a need to correct errors in the constitution, stating: "Our constitution is the problem and it will take us to war. We must change the constitution."
