Why Raila will Lose in Kibra - Herman Manyora

ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta are playing a game of cards on Deputy President William Ruto through Kibra by-election and cancellation of the Kimwarer dam project as asserted by analyst Herman Manyora.

The University of Nairobi don, through his YouTube channel on Saturday, September 21, alleged that Odinga and Kenyatta had decided to make small sacrifices in order to please and tame Ruto.

"Odinga and Kenyatta are on a march to State House in 2022. Therefore, the gods have asked them to make sacrifices. It appears to me that Kibra is going to be one of those sacrifices and Raila will lose Kibra enthusiastically. His support for Imran Okoth in Kibra will be lukewarm," the lecturer explained.

The opinion leader went on to reveal that Raila, needed to let African National Congress leader, Musalia Mudavadi through Eliud Owalo to win in Kibra.

"Odinga is far above indulging in Kibra race. He knows the art of negotiation and has to allow Mudavadi and others to win all in the interest of the handshake and 2022 elections.

"For Kenyatta and Odinga to win in 2022, friends and political careers will be sacrificed and enemies will be brought on board. Kibra is a taste of that sacrifice," Manyora argued.

He went on to claim that Kenyatta's move to endorse Mariga was a plot hatched to appease Ruto.

"Kenyatta has shown that he is ready to sacrifice. There will be bigger sacrifices along the way. Kimwarer has gone, and that will create room for another sacrifice in Kenya.

"Receiving the jubilee candidate dubbed Ruto's man is a small sacrifice to undertaken in order to make Ruto happy. The Kieleweke brigade should not see it that Ruto has had his way," he alleged.

The analyst then sought to explain how far Kenyatta had lowered himself by overlooking on the controversies around Mariga's age and endorsement by Jubilee, to ensure that Ruto was seen as a winner.

"The president may have been aware of Mariga's age that he was born two or three times and that he brought shame to the country at the football international stage. Nevertheless, he may have ignored all that to impress Mariga.

"He may also have been aware that IEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati's, decision to have Mariga contest in Kibra despite Returning Officer Beatrice Muli declaring that Mariga was not a registered voter, was contrary to the law," Manyora expounded.

According to him, for Kenyatta and Odinga to win in 2022, the two have to ensure that Ruto is kept under check and balance.

"You do not want to antagonise Ruto so much if something small can make him happy, why not?" Manyora claimed.
