Ksh600M Inheritance Tears Senator's Family Apart

A Senator allied to Deputy President William Ruto was dragged to court in a bitter family battle over a Ksh600 million property.

According to the Business Daily on Tuesday, October 15, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and her 40 siblings resolved to solve the family's wrangles in court.

The children of the late Nakuru North MP Dickson Kihika Kimani were unable to reach an out-of-court settlement in the sharing of their inheritance.

The eight widows of the late legislator have torn the family apart for over 10 years after failing to come up with an inheritance settlement plan.

Peris Njoki Kihika, the daughter of the late's third wife, Jane Wanjiru, is fighting to secure her freedom after she was sent to jail in 2015.

It was alleged that Njoki was convicted for 2 years for assaulting her stepsister, Carolyne Wanjiku Kihika.

Wanjiku is the sister to Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, and the two are daughters of the late's second wife, Alice Kihika.

The late MP who served as an MP for Nakuru North (1974-1979), Laikipia West (1992-1997) and Molo (1997-2002) succumbed to diabetes in 2004, aged 78.

Senator Kihika is a member of a Jubilee Party faction of women leaders allied to DP William Ruto dubbed Inua Mama.

She has numerously declared interest in the Nakuru gubernatorial seat.
