Popular Gospel Musician Turns Down Woman's Marriage Proposal

A Citizen TV presenter rejected a woman's kind gesture, asking him to tie the knot with her daughter.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, David MuthengiHoly Dave, disclosed that a parent sent him an email asking him to marry her daughter.

Holy Dave is a renowned gospel artist, emcee and lecturer at top universities in Kenya such as Africa Nazarene and Daystar University.

"Yes, she sent me an email asking if I am married, saying she is looking for a God-fearing man for her daughter," Holy Dave informed.

He further added that despite the trend being constant, he has found a kind way to turn down the offers.

“I get a lot of that but I choose to respond politely as I am patient and hopeful that God has a plan to have me settle with an enviable family. I am not in a rush but the ideal candidate must be God-fearing, kind and open-minded,” Holy Dave stated.

"You have to be ready to learn new things so as to get to my books," he added.

The trend of Kenyans reaching out to celebrities for marriage or to express their love for them has picked up over the past years.

In 2019, Radio Africa queen, Carol Radull, also gently turned down a fan's marriage proposal, after the man wrote a hilarious love letter to her.

She, however, appreciated the love that had been offered by one Timo Sem, who affirmed that he was an ardent fan of the Classic 105 sports presenter.

Celebrities on the other end have also hit headlines in search of marriage partners. In 2019, Musician Alex Apoko alias Ringtone created an online buzz when he was spotted in Nairobi raising a placard advertising that he was looking for a wife.
