Inua Mama, a political faction of the Jubilee Party allied with Deputy President William Ruto were hosted to a luncheon by Garissa Woman Representative Anab Subow Gure on Friday, August 7.
In early 2020, Subow delivered a bouncing baby boy who she named Ruto, in honour of Deputy President William Ruto.
Led by the Chairperson, Kandara MP Alice Wahome and Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici, women leaders splashed gifts on Subow at her home in Garissa County.
"The event was a success and we celebrated the new mother. She is a pinnacle of strength for most women leaders.
"Remember Subow walked the entire Inua Mama 2019 edition while expectant," a representative of the group told Kenyans.co.ke.
Inua Mama also strategised on how it could continue reaching out and empowering women, youth and people living with disabilities.
Subow announced plans to name her son after the DP on September 28, 2019, while speaking at a rally in Tharaka Nithi County.
The woman representative displayed her baby bump and rubbed it, as she told the residents to embrace the deputy president in 2022.
"Ruto ametosha. Mtoto ataitwa Ruto. (Ruto suffices. When I deliver my child, he will be named after him)," she stated.
On Wednesday, November 27, President Uhuru Kenyatta urged women leaders to break their groups and join together to push for a better Kenya. Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege announced the end of Team Embrace, a faction of women leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
However, Wahome is yet to do the same, stating that Inua Mama, would continue empowering women socially and economically.
