The media house encouraged every person to donate noting that all blood groups were welcome.

Leading the way, businessman John Rotich announced that he was the first person to donate blood for the journalist on the morning of Friday, December 23

“Today, I felt nice after being the first one to donate blood for Janet Chapia of NTV at Meridian hospital Nairobi West," he stated.

Chapia joined the list of media personalities who appealed for medical help from the public in 2022.

On November 7, veteran KBC presenter Catherine Kasavuli appealed for medical help after she was hospitalised at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

She was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

According to sources close to her, the newscaster was taken to the private wing and was in need of blood donation.

“TV legend, Catherine Kasavuli is hospitalized at the KNH Private Wing, she urgently needs blood. Please avail yourself & donate,” stated KBC presenter Shiksha Arora.
