Waiguru To Run For Presidency - Keter

Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has now claimed that Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru is being groomed by State House for the 2022 presidential race.

The MP who has been baying for the impeachment of Ms Waiguru, claimed that the "preferential treatment" given to the contoversial CS made it clear that she was being prepared for the top job.

“We have realised that the presidency is protecting CS Waiguru because some people are planning to have her run for Presidency in 2022,” said Mr Keter.

The MP was speaking at the home of Japheth Ruto, a brother to Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who lost two children in a grisly road accident.

The MP further insinuated that Deputy President William Ruto was being shortchanged as there would be no chance for him to run for Presidency come 2022.

“They are lying to our son, (Deputy President William Ruto) to be patient, while they are actually praying for him to be jailed by the ICC before the polls,” he said.

Mr Keter highlighted incidents that supported his claims, including the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) report that mentioned 175 government officials among them Cabinet Secretaries who were forced to step side.

"The CS already had issues with the EACC before I started the impeachment motion, but for some reasons we do not know, she did not appear in the EACC list of 175, which was brought to Parliament by the President,” he said.

Mr Keter also termed the suspension of the four Cabinet Secretaries, Felix Kosgei (Agriculture), Davies Chirchir (Energy and Petroleum), Charity Ngilu (Land) and Kazungu Kambi (Labour), as a political move aimed at weakening the United Republican Party (URP) in the Jubilee Coalition.
