Okiya Omtatah

Okiya Omtatah is not a lawyer by profession as many people presume him to be, but is a Human Rights Activist. 

To many, he is the number one country’s public defender because he has filed some of the biggest public interest cases that have shaped the economy and political landscape.

Manu Chandaria

Dr. Manu Chandaria, is a successful business person and founding chairman of the East African Business Council and the Kenya Private Sector Alliance, an umbrella body representing over two hundred sectors and organizations.

He is a Council member of the University of Nairobi which awarded him a Doctorate of Sciences. 

In 2003, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II conferred an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his community work and promotion of Kenyan economic interests.

Kivutha Kibwana

Kivutha Kibwana is the current governor of Makueni County, and a human rights activist. 

He served as the Minister for Defence, Minister for Environment and a former member of parliament for Makueni Constituency. Also, he served as a former advisor to President Mwai Kibaki.

He is ranked as one of the best performing governors in the country evidenced by excellent utilization of public funds, enactment of the Universal Health Coverage and empowering citizens through projects such as agro-processing.

Wala Amakove

Wala Amakove is a resourceful Medical Doctor (MBChB) and Health Programs Manager with over 15 years’ experience in health programs design, management, and implementation.

She is known to be an accomplished leader and key contributor to the development of several guidelines, health bills, and health sector policies.

James Mwangi

He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at one of Kenya’s leading financial institutions, Equity Bank.

He was born in 1962 in Kangema, Murang’a county. James was brought up by a single mum (Grace Mwangi) alongside his six siblings, after losing his father very early in life.

Sam Mwaniki

Sam Mwaniki is a Kenyan teacher, who started off as a primary school teacher.

He is the winner of the 2021 Facebook Accelerator Program. 

He is the founder of Teachers Notice Board Kenya, whose main aim is to bring teachers, trainees and tutors from all Teacher Training Colleges in Kenya together to build relationships, share 

Laila Macharia

Laila Macharia is a Kenyan lawyer, business woman, entrepreneur and angel investor who is the chairperson of the Africa Leadership Initiative (East Africa). 

She is a non-executive director at the Africa Digital Media group, ABSA Kenya plc (previously Barclays Bank) and Centum Investments, the largest listed private equity firm on the Nairobi Stock Exchange.

Elias Makori

Makori is a seasoned journalist with 25 years experience in sports journalism and is the Nation Media Group’s Managing Editor for Sports.

He is a holder of a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Barcelona's Cruyff Institute of Sports Studies.

Wilson Sossion

Sossion is a nominated member of parliament representing workers' interest in the National Assembly and has been active in educational matters since he started teaching in 1993, at Tenwek High School, in Bomet. 

He has been passionately fighting for the rights of teachers.
