Irungu Kang'ata

Irungu Kang'ata is the second Governor of Murang'a County, having been elected into office in August 2022.

Governor Kang'ata is an accomplished lawyer with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in law.

Known for his humble and outgoing nature, the governor has accumulated a wealth of experience in public service, having served as an elected Ward Councillor in Murang'a Town, Kiharu Member of Parliament, and Senator for Murang'a County.

Irungu Houghton

Irungu Houghton is the Executive Director of Amnesty International Kenya, a global human rights organization.

As the organization’s Chief Strategist, Houghton leads a team of committed investigative researchers and campaigners working to end human rights abuses in Kenya.

Under his leadership, Amnesty Kenya has consistently campaigned against human rights violations in the country, particularly in June this year when several Kenyans were reportedly killed while protesting against the Finance Bill 2024.

Lawrence Mugambi

Lawrence Mugambi is a judicial officer who serves as a Judge of the High Court of Kenya in Nairobi.

He previously served as a Magistrate at Kapsabet, Sotik, Kangundo, and Milimani Law Courts, and as Chief Magistrate at the Anti-Corruption Court.

Mugambi also served as National Coordinator for Community Service Orders and as an Advocate at Nyaga Kamundi and Company Advocates.

Constantine Wesonga

Constantine Wasonga was elected as the Secretary General of the University Staff Association in July 2021 and ever since has been very vocal on the rights of university staff workers across the country. 

Wasonga holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Arts), with History and Religious Education as his teaching subjects.

Benson Kipruto

Benson Kipruto is a Kenyan marathoner who has won multiple major marathons and is one of the most consistent and accomplished road runners, his latest being competing at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

The 33-year-old has an impressive track record, including victories at the Boston Marathon in 2021, the Chicago Marathon in 2022, and the Tokyo Marathon earlier this year.

Duncan Onyango

He played a pivotal role in Kenya’s first public-private partnership (PPP) as Chief Financial Officer at Rift Valley Railways, securing investments worth $290 million.

Kamau Thugge

The former IMF senior economist has had an impactful 2024, thanks to his work as the governor of the Central Bank of Kenya.

Since taking office in June 2023, Thugge has played a key role in shaping the Kenyan financial landscape.

Under his stewardship, the economist, who is the 10th governor of the Central Bank of Kenya, oversaw the stabilising of Kenyan markets and the strengthening of the Kenyan shilling, which has held steady at KSh129 against the intimidating US Dollar.

Alexander Mutiso Munyao

Alexander Mutiso Munyao is a record-breaking Kenyan long-distance runner who had a stellar year in 2024, solidifying his position as one of Kenya’s elite marathon runners. 

His standout achievement was claiming victory at the prestigious TCS London Marathon, marking his first-ever World Marathon Majors title. 

Munyao clocked an impressive 2:04:01 to beat seasoned Ethiopian runner Kenenisa Bekele, a 21-time global titleholder, in a gripping head-to-head finish. 

Kamal Budhabhatti

Kamal Budhabhatti is the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Craft Silicon, a leading provider of software solutions for financial institutions across Africa and emerging Asia.

Kamal is also the founder of Little, a pan-African super app offering ride-hailing, delivery, healthcare, and payment services.

His innovations, including a payment gateway connecting African countries, have transformed how businesses operate in the region.
