The chilling incident was caught on tape, as CCTV footage was released a day later revealing how the incident unfolded.

Babu was later released on a cash bail of Ksh10 million. The MP also disclosed that he undertook the responsibility of paying for DJ Evolve's medical bills.

Herein are four additional outrageous incidents ranging from alleged murder and racism caught on camera in 2020.

2. Man Commits Suicide Inside a Tycoon's Home

In January 2020 Police in Kirinyaga County detailed how a man broke into a businessman's home to commit suicide.

According to a report by Citizen TV, the man, aged 42 years, went missing on Thursday, January 2, before his body was found hanging inside the compound of a businessman in the area.

Police sources noted that the compound was highly secured with a 15-foot-tall perimeter wall that was enforced with razor wire. The body of the man was found hanging on an avocado tree within the compound, with his neck tied with barbed wire.

3. JKIA Engineer Stabbed to Death

CCTV footage emerged of a man believed to be Edward Okello, a Jomo Kenyatta International Aiport engineer who was allegedly stabbed by his girlfriend following a domestic squabble at their Nairobi's Umoja II Estate home.

Okello could be seen walking out of a gate, bleeding profusely while clutching at his chest.

His girlfriend Vigilance Shighi, followed him outside calling for help from onlookers. Shighi was arrested by the police who launched an investigation into the issue.

4. DCI Kinoti's Footage of DP Ruto's Office

In early March, the Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti astounded the nation when he televised the murder investigation of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei.

Kenei was a police officer attached to DP Ruto's Harambee Annex office. He was reportedly murdered in March 2020 after being involved in the fake Ksh 40 million military weapons scandal which roped in DP Ruto and former Sports CS Rashid Echesa.

Kinoti played CCTV footage to refute claims that Kenei committed suicide and prove that Echesa stayed in Ruto's office for over 1 hour as opposed to DP's 23 minutes defence.

5. Chinese Whipping Kenyan

The video sparked outrage on Saturday, February 8, after a Chinese national was recorded whipping a Kenyan employee.

The Chinese national defended himself, arguing that he and the waiter were playing games. However, the Interior Ministry under CS Fred Matiang'i reacted on the issue, calling for his deportation alongside three of his colleagues.

All four Chinese nationals left aboard a China Southern Airlines plane on February 27.
